Stereotypes Can Be Inaccurate
Stereotype are basically assumptions that are made about a person or objects. It is one of the fastest way to making sense of certain people and objects. How we draw the inferences about the person or object can only be as accurate to how much we know about it or acquired the information. There are only two ways to acquire a belief in anything: we either see it for our self or somebody tells us about it.
Stereotypes Can Be Overused
People tends to categorizes things and perceive things broadly. This causes people to generalize things to much and don't notice the uniqueness in things. This is also true with stereotyping people. If people overestimate or underestimate similarity, it will cause us to miss out on the important things in each category.
Stereotypes Can Be Self-Perpetuating

Stereotypes Can Be Automatic
Stereotyping can happen unconsciously and automatically. This is caused by how we take in information over the years and how the people around us has influenced the way we think. However, trying not to use stereotype could also make the situation worse instead of for the better. Even though we cannot stop stereotyping, we can, however, reduce stereotyping from different factors, such as education.
